It's ENGLISH. After enduring my sister's jabs at my vocabulary, I lost my will to even attempt to explain myself. To be honest there's nothing wrong with using less common words if it means your point is conveyed more accurately. If it avoids any ambiguity first time around, I much prefer it. But the fact that she's insistent that choosing word carefully is a crime... There's an apparent impression it's for arrogance and attempting to talk down to the other. Being frank, I'd make sure those words transferred the satirical comment itself to mock. Mother tends to agree on this at some base level, inputting the fact I'll be punched someday. If t

Yeah, I was just making a joke, of course. ;] Since it's so common practice, and usually it's just a standard, "Thanks for the watch!", I like to leave something a bit different to break up the monotony of 'watch gratitude'.
